Frequently Asked Questions

We want you to be confident in your health care choices. Here are some FAQs we hear from clients.

BHRT/Hormone FAQs

What is BHRT?

Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) uses hormones that are chemically identical to those naturally produced by the body to help restore and maintain hormonal balance. When clinically appropriate, I prescribe compounded bio-identical hormones through a trusted compounding pharmacy known for its high-quality formulations, reliability, and responsive patient care.

How is BHRT different from traditional hormone therapy?

Bio-identical hormones are natural, plant-derived (from yam or soy) and identical to the hormones your body makes, offering a more individualized and physiologic approach. Traditional hormone therapy often uses synthetic hormones, which are not identical to human hormones. Natural thyroid therapy may come from desiccated porcine (pig) thyroid, providing a full spectrum of thyroid hormones beyond synthetic options.

Is BHRT safe?

When medically supervised and personalized, risks are minimized. We prioritize evidence-based hormone levels and responsible dosing.

What hormones do you use?

Estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid hormones, DHEA, melatonin—based on individual needs.

How are hormones given?

Hormones are most commonly prescribed in topical (cream), oral (capsule), or sublingual forms which are often effective and well tolerated. In certain cases, injectable hormones may also be considered when clinically appropriate.

When will I feel results?

Many clients notice improvements in sleep, mood, and energy within 4–8 weeks, with continued progress over the following months. However, depending on your individual health history and the symptoms being addressed, it may take several months to experience full benefits. Hormone optimization is a gradual process, and lasting results often require time, consistency, and patience.

Do you take insurance?

Lavender Health & Wellness does not accept insurance. All visits with the practitioner, laboratory testing, and compounded medications are self-pay. Eligible services may be paid for using HSA or FSA funds.

How do I get started?

Schedule an initial appointment to review symptoms, labs, and create a personalized plan. Check out our Getting Started with BHRT Guide for more information on the process.

CranioSacral Therapy FAQs

What is CranioSacral Therapy?

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on therapy that works with the body’s natural rhythms to release tension, support healing, and restore balance. It can help with stress, chronic pain, headaches, and overall wellness.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Your first visit begins with a brief consultation to discuss your health history, concerns, and goals. Then, you’ll relax fully clothed on a treatment table while gentle, hands-on techniques help release tension and restore balance. Most clients leave feeling calm, refreshed, and more in tune with their body.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. You will remain fully clothed during your CranioSacral Therapy session.

How long is a session?

Most sessions are 30 or 60 minutes, depending on your needs and goals.

What does it cost?

Our sessions are $130 for 60 minutes and $65 for 30 minutes. While both options are available, we recommend the 60-minute session for a more complete and restorative experience.

Do you take insurance? How about HSA/FSA?

We do not bill insurance directly. However, we provide a detailed superbill at the time of payment that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. We also accept HSA and FSA payments.

How often should I schedule therapy?

Frequency depends on your individual needs and goals. Some individuals benefit from weekly sessions, while others may schedule every few weeks or monthly. You and I will work with you to develop a personalized plan that best supports your health and wellness journey.

What ages do you treat?

We provide services for clients 13 years and older. CranioSacral Therapy is gentle and tailored to meet the needs of each individual.

What is integrative wellness care?

Integrative wellness care combines conventional medical knowledge with holistic approaches to support the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. At Lavender Health & Wellness, this means blending evidence-based therapies with gentle, non-invasive treatments like CranioSacral Therapy to promote optimal health and balance.

Who can benefit from your services?

Our services are designed for people 13 years and older. CranioSacral Therapy can help reduce stress, relieve tension, support recovery from injury, improve sleep, and enhance overall wellness. While generally very safe, certain conditions may require consultation first, including:
First-trimester pregnancy
• Recent skull fractures
